When the winds rise and the waves grow rough, where is Jesus?
In John 6:16–21, the disciples are straining at the oars in the dark when they see Jesus walking on the water. They are terrified. Yet he says, “It is I. Do not be afraid.”
In this message, “Could That Be? You Decide!”, we explore how this sign in Gospel of John points to deeper truths. Could it be that obedience to Christ does not guarantee smooth sailing? Could it be that he sees us even when he feels far away? Could it be that he comes to us in the darkest watch of the night?
While the crowd later turns away, Peter confesses, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
Maybe you feel like you are sinking. Maybe the storm is raging. This miracle reminds us that Jesus sees, Jesus comes, and Jesus speaks peace.
Could that be? You decide.
