What happens when faith has to travel farther than sight can go? In John 4, a desperate father journeys 17 miles to Jesus--only to discover that Jesus doesn’t need to make the trip. With no signs, no spectacle, just a promise, Jesus calls this royal official to trust His word.
And the man does.
Jesus heals from a distance--not only the boy’s body, but the father’s faith. A remote faith is brought close. A household comes to believe.
This week we were reminded:
- Faith doesn’t grow by chasing signs, but by trusting Christ’s word.
- Jesus still does “remote work,” meeting us wherever our faith feels far away.
- Faith comes from hearing—and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17).
Wherever you are today, however distant your faith may feel, Jesus invites you closer. Trust Him as you can--and He will give you more than you expect.
“Your son will live.”
And the man took Jesus at His word.
