Acts 14:8-20

In Acts 14:8-20, Paul invites us to read the first of two books described in the Belgic Confession: the book of nature, through which God reveals Himself in creation, and the book of Scripture, through which He reveals His saving truth. Creation is filled with "letters to make us ponder," pointing to God's creative power, God's great patience, and God's providential care. As we marvel at God's world, we are invited to look beyond creation to the greater story of His redeeming grace in Jesus Christ.
